ex 1: "Colors so amazingly bright, like a glowing prism light." This if from a poem call "God's Crayons". My interpretation of this is that this is a little boy describing the colors of the crayons in a very vivid manner to show how much he loves how brightly colored things are.
ex 2: "As she once again Tastes the Music." This poem is called "Taste of Music" I interpreted this as a woman showing how much she loves music and how she gets a "taste" for the music when she plays.
ex 3: "Blue is a sapphire sky, on a hot summer's day." This poem is called "What is Blue?" This is about a person trying to describe the color to a blind child so he can make a visualization in his mind so he could imagine what the color blue might be like if he could see.
ex 4: "The praying trees" This poem is called "Beauty in the Kid's Eyes" My interpretation of this poem is that it is about the imagination of a child wanting an adult to see and understand what the child sees through his eyes.

leona helmsley's will
Mrs Helmsley, the widow of Harry B. Helmsley, was best known for her sharp tongue and impatience with humanity. For many Americans, she became a symbol of unbridled arrogance, particularly after she was convicted of a tax evasion in the amount of $1.2 million. In 1989 she was convicted and sent to prison. In August 2007, Leona Helmsley passed away leaving her instructions in a two-page "mission statement" that her Maltese, Trouble, would be given virtually all of her estate and be used for the care and welfare of dogs. Another provision in the statment says that the trustees may use their discretion in distributing the money. The statement is an expression of her wishes that is not necessarily legally binding. Still, laws favor adherence to a donor's intent, and the mission statement is the only clear expression of Mrs Helmsley's intentions., which will make the document difficult for her trustees as well as the probate court and state charity regulators to ignore.
My opinion in thsi matter is that yes, it's kind of crazy to leave your estate to the welfare of yours and other dogs, but if that's what she wanted to do with it, that's what should be done. On the other hand, if I was one of the trustee's I would be pretty upset and try to fight it, but I'm not so good for her. Animals need our help too.

pregnancy boom
Seventeen girls at Gloucester High School are expecting babies. The school started looking into the matter around October when an unusual number of girls began going to the school clinic to find out if they were pregnant. Several which had returned multiple times to get pregnancy tests, and after hearing the results, some were more upset to find out that they weren't pregnant than the ones that were. After some simple questions, school officials found out that nearly half of the expecting students, non older than 16, confesssed to making a pact to get pregnant and to raise their babies together. One graduate made the comment that they're so excited to finally have someone to love them, which is why they are wanting to have babies. The high school has done perhaps too good of a job embracing the young mothers by offering a free on-site day care center. By May, the school nurse administered around 150 pregnancy tests to the students. Therefore, Gloucester's elected school comittee plans to vote on whether or not to provide contraceptives, especially if they're not going to use them.
In my opinion, these girls are just naive and immature. They do not realize what they are giving up by having these babies at such a young age. To purposely get pregnant before you even have your drivers licesne is just dumb. Accidents happen, and that's ok, but they are giving up their childhood for a child of their own just so they can feel loved. I mean, if that's what you want, get a dog! They have no idea what's in store for them. They are still abiding by the rules from their own parents and at the same time, they will have to make their own rules for their babies, and set good examples for them. It's a pretty tortuous thing if you ask me.

How to Live with Just 100 Things
vocab words:
1) fedora- A soft felt hat with a fairly low crown creased lengthwise & a brim that can be turned up or down.
2) consignment- Property sent to an agent for sale, storage, or shipment: of pertaining to, or shipped as goods on consignment.
3) musing- Deep in thought, contemplative.
Excess consumption is practically an American religion. The 100 thing challenge is a grass-roots movement in which otherwise seemingly normal folks are pledging to whittle down their possessions to a mere 100 items.
Dave Bruno, an online enterpreneur, began the 100 thing challenge. In a country wher clutter has given rise not only to professional organizers, but also to professional organizers with their own reality series (TLC's Clean Sweep), Bruno's online musings about his slow and steady purge have developed something of a cult following online, inspiring others to launch their own countdown to cluttter free-living.
Daniel Perkins, a graphic designer, isn't working toward a quantitative goal, but says he & his wife have instead pledged within a year to only have things they used daily in their apartment.
It comes down to products vs. the promise. People aere finding that their homes are full of stuff, but their lives are littered with unfulfilled promises. People are wanting to take some control over their lives. Decluttering just may be the answer to do so.
It"s a very emotional process. When organizing isn't enought: Shed Your Stuff, change your life, lay out a plan for clearing out both physical & sentimental clutter.
I agree with the article. Cluttered homes make a person feel overwhelmed with life. By decluttering, it helps you to feel taht you have taken some control over a part of your life that is causing you unwanted stress.
